How & When to Overseed Your Lawn

December 20th, 2021

OverseedYour lawn is one of your property’s most valuable assets. A well-maintained lawn doesn’t just increase your home’s curb appeal… it can even give your home’s monetary value a boost! It’s no wonder so many homeowners spend time and money ensuring their lawn is in perfect condition.

So, when brown patches start to pop up, or the lawn begins to look thin and scarce, panic may start to set in. However, there are ways to restore your lawn’s luster without replacing or reseeding the entire thing.

Why would I want to overseed?

     Overcome disease or pests

How do I overseed my lawn?

When should I overseed my lawn?

Since we don’t deal with extreme cold here in Florida, homeowners can overseed anytime outside of the hottest summer months. However, avoid overseeding if you know a cold snap is coming. If you plan to do this in the spring, be sure to do it with enough time for the new grass to establish before the summer heat turns up.
