There are several different kinds of ants; and for many of them, spraying indoors will control or eliminate the infestation. Yet ghost ants are different. Ghost ants will actually get worse when you try to spray for them. Here is what you need to know about ghost ants and how to get rid of them effectively.
Ghost ants got their name because they look like regular house ants except that they are very pale and hard to see. These ants find their way into homes the same way that regular ants do—through cracks in the foundation, through drains, and through cracks in windows and doors. Because these ants are difficult to see, many people do not realize that they have a problem until it becomes a very bad infestation.
Spraying for these ants doesn’t work to control them, and in fact can make the infestation worse. When you spray for ghost ants, they adapt by creating sub-colonies to escape the threat of the deadly chemicals. As they separate into additional colonies, they will increase their numbers, and that means that you have more of a problem than you did in the first place.
The best way to get rid of ghost ants is to use bait developed for this specific purpose. With the bait, the ants that come into the home will eat the bait and carry it back to the colony. This is a very effective way to get rid of them for good. You can’t get effective bait on your own; but if you contact us, we can treat your home and help you end the ant infestation once and for all.
